Our Name

The name “Daybreak” is inspired by the words of Luke 1:78-79 in the Bible. These verses cast an inspiring vision of a new dawn breaking into the darkness and uncertainty of our lives and enabling us to experience peace. Daybreak Counselling is committed to helping people discover this sense of newness in their lives and relationships.

Introducing Cory Seibel

As a professional counsellor, Cory is passionate about working with individual clients and couples. His approach to counselling is rooted in the Relational Spirituality Model, an evidence-based approach developed at Boston University’s Danielsen Institute. Cory has adopted the RSM because of its proven effectiveness in enabling clients to explore their desires for meaning, identity, and connection and to address how their lives have been shaped through key relationships and experiences. As the RSM’s name suggests, this approach also provides an accessible framework for Cory to express his commitment to take seriously the spiritual dimensions of his clients’ lives.

Cory’s Training

Cory is a graduate of the MA in Counselling program at Central Seminary in Shawnee, Kansas. During his MA studies, he completed an 11-month internship at Cornerstone Counselling in Edmonton.

Cory has completed additional training in the Doctor of Clinical Pastoral Counselling program at Washington University of Virginia in Annadale, Virginia, and the MS in Family Studies program at Amberton University in Garland, Texas.

Cory previously completed a Master of Theology degree from Spurgeon’s College in the UK, and a PhD in practical theology from the University of Pretoria in South Africa.
